Smeared and Smudged April Member Blog Hop

I was a little nervous to use a stamped image on an egg. I wanted to do something more cutesy for Easter. So I picked an UM Repeat Impressions stamp entitled Just Hatched I bought a few years ago from StampScrapArttour convention.( Unfortunately I will miss the one they are having near me in May. I am having surgery to repair my separated stomach muscles. I will be in bed for one week afterwards and two more weeks extremely light activity.)
I stamped the image on white card stock then colored it with Copic markers. I cut it out so it would look like it is cracking out of the egg. I colored the egg with Copic markers too in two shades of purple. After adhering the stamped image to the hard boiled egg I drew some black on it with a Sharpie marker. I think it looks so cute.
I am hoping to dye eggs this Sunday afternoon with my girls. We love coloring them, using dye, stickers, markers and crayons. So much fun! Egg salad sandwiches and hard boiled eggs eaten for days, even the dogs get some.
I hope you enjoy the Smeared & Smudged blog hop. I appreciate you taking the time to check out my egg and leaving a comment. I hope everyone has a sweet Easter with baskets full of joy!

Smeared & Smudged's March Blog Hop "Void"

I was eager to join Smeared & Smudged's March Blog hop despite the topic of "void". You must use a stamped image in their blog hops. I love their stamps. I belong to their Smeared Ink monthly stamp club. So, I chose to use one of the stamps from them..hence the skull stamp I used is From Smeared Ink. When I think of the topic of void I always think of thought and feelings. Some people are just void of one or the other unless it directly pertains to them. Some people think they know it all and they are the ones I think are completely void of thought. My void stamped project was a page in my new art journal. I incorporated a quote from poet, Ezra Pound. He can be a little pessimistic but he keeps it real. I used Tattered angels glimmer mists and spider web mask. Notice they are "void" of any little spiders or spiders' tasty morsels(other bugs). I painted the skull stamped image with Shimmerz then outlined it with color from Copic markers. I outlined the page and skull with a yellow Martha Stewart marker. I used Tattered Angels black Glam in the eye sockets, nose holes and mouth.
Go to http://moresmearedink.blogspot.com/ to follow the blog hop. I would have posted the actual blog roll but for some reason my mac (and ipad) would not allow me. Please leave a comment. I like to read them.

Day 7 of kickstart your art challenge from Smeared and Smudged

Day 7 challenge was to use the easy water blotting background. Go to: http://moresmearedink.blogspot.com/
I wanted to try using different types of ink on this page to add some depth. I used some old walnut ink daubers I had for years now from Fiber Scraps( they r no longer in business.). I used some TH distress inks and smeared a little TA Glam on top.
With water I impressed circles randomly on the page using a circle stamp I had by Judith.it worked perfectly. I even impressed lips on the bottom left corner in water using a stamp ( a little hard to see in pic). I stamped a mosquito and star on the page with memento blk ink (stamps by Judith).

This page reminds me of my Uncle JF who died tragically when I was a young teenager. He was a very highly intellectual eccentric yet gentle man. Beautiful inside and out. Died when he was only 26 years old. Anyway, this reminds me of him bc in his bedroom he had random writings and drawings on his walls. Some I still remember even now. I wish I had a camera at the time before the house was sold to take photos of his work on the walls.

Day 6 kick start your art Challenge with Smeared and Smudge

I went to a high school cheer leading event today and set up a candle bar (I sell candles and sprinkles.). The cheerleaders were so cute and very helpful. They helped me pack and unpack. They were so creative with mixing my sprinkles to make their candles.  Anyway so I wasn't sure I would have time to do the challenge today. When I saw what the challenge was I was discouraged. I don't like texture on my pages. I like everything flat or near flat. I thought if I am going to be challenged do something I am not fond of too. Trying to go outside the box. Though I did take a couple class this past summer using various mediums but wasn't impressed with how they look. I am not a fan of the "drippy" stuff.
Go to http://moresmearedink.blogspot.com/ to check out the challenge.
So I stamped a few Smeared Ink images on paper then applied them to my page. I painted Faber Castells gel medium over them then applied Martha Stewarts black glitter to make it look a little glitzy and rough. The words I obviously hand wrote with a bold creative memories pen on regular loose leaf paper to keep with the traditional journal vibe. I applied CTMH's liquid glass to the heart image I stamped on the loose leaf paper. I roughly bordered the loose leaf paper tearings with Viva walnut brown metallic 3d stamp paint.

I used the focus on being an empath bc an interesting thing happened today at the cheerleading event.   These types of things happen often but usually the "other side" isn't so determined to make u state to the innocent person that they are present. So when u feel the "pushing" from the other side it kinda leaves an impact on you.
